The Concept of Trimurti ॐ त्रिदेवाय नमः

trimurti
Trinity/Trimurti
Word origin from Sanskrit, from tri three + mūrti form त्रिमूर्ति trimūrti

God also exists beyond this world as an impersonal force and/or as the Supreme Person. Most commonly, that transcendent Supreme is identified with 3 gods in a single form with 3 faces.

Brahma as the Generator, Vishnu as the Organizer, and Shiva as the Destroyer came to be known as GOD – Generator, Organizer, and Destroyer. Vishnu is not only a preserver; Shiva is not only a destroyer.

There is doubt whether the Hindu tradition has ever recognized Brahma as the Supreme Deity in the way Vishnu and Shiva have been conceived and worshiped. Direct worship of Brahma is rare. There is only one temple of Brahma in India, which is situated in Pushkar, Rajasthan. Now, why don't we worship Brahma? Why was Lord Brahma never depicted as much powerful as Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva?

Mūrti idols of Shiva in the Shaivism tradition, Vishnu in the Vaishnava tradition, and Devi in the Shakta (from Shakti) tradition. Ground-level – at many places where we can see Trimurti idols - Devi's idol is replaced by Brahma's. The Tridevi is the trinity of goddess consorts for the Trimūrti.

Brahma lost worshippers because of telling lies and was merely entrusted with the task of creation under the direction of the other two gods.

Trimurti temples

Temples dedicated to various permutations of the Trimurti can be seen as early as the 6th century C.E. There are still some temples today where the Trimurti are actively worshiped.

  1. Baroli Trimurti Temple
  2. Elephanta Caves
  3. Mithrananthapuram Trimurti Temple
  4. Prambanan Trimurti Temple
  5. Savadi Trimurti Temple
  6. Thripaya Trimurti Temple
  7. Thirumoorthy hills

What do the Hindu scriptures say about the Trimurti?

Source of wisdom and authority

"Brahma decided to start creation afresh but discovered that the earth was submerged in water. How would his creations survive if there was no earth? He, therefore, requested Vishnu to bring up the earth from under the water. (Kūrma Purana 1.6)”

What does it mean? There are many Hindu scriptures that tell creation stories. This short extract narrates the making of the universe and shows that two of the Trimurti gods played cooperative parts. Brahma as creator, led this process, but Vishnu also used his power in the creation.

Source of wisdom and authority

The Kūrma Purana (1.9) tells a Hindu story of creation, summarised here: Brahma and Vishnu together killed the demons that wanted to sabotage the creation of the universe. After being frustrated with his creative work, Brahma cried and died, but then Shiva was born from Brahma – who was revived. Shiva lived in all of the elements, including the sun, water, sky, fire, wind, and trees.

What does it mean? This creation story emphasizes the role of each of the Trimurti's gods in the universe's making.

Modern Influence

Modern Hinduism has various factions, and there is not a single unique ideology. Most of the belief systems stem back to the Trimurti. Smartism is a modern version in which it is believed the three gods are representations of a supreme higher power that has no form. The Shaktis believe that all three deities came from the divine mother and are aspects of her nature. Some cults worship Vishnu, others Shiva, and some see divinity in all of nature. They are all considered good Hindus.

All over the world, the sound of Om is the symbol of Hinduism. It’s the primordial sound, the very breath of creation, and the justification for our very existence.

According to the legend, it all began with the Trimurti.

What came first - The Ramayana or the Mahabharata?

(The dating in the article is approximate and rounded for ease of understanding.) Everything relies upon what answer you are set up to get, for the appropriate response is convoluted and buried in political issues. There are basically two sorts of answers: religious answer (myths or faith- based) or reality-based answer (facts or truth-based). Religious answer acknowledges as unadulterated truth what is transmitted in writings and by educators without basic examination; it makes individuals vociferously certain. Truth based answer is restricted by accessibility of quantifiable and irrefutable proof; it makes individuals wary and dicey. Presently the Vedic songs are written in a Sanskrit called Vedic Sanskrit while the most established Ramayana and Mahabharata writings we have are written in a Sanskrit called Classical Sanskrit. The last uses a punctuation initially archived by Panini who lived 2,500 years prior. So the most established forms of Ramayana and Mahabharata that we have...

Brahma lives in different dimension or a planet? | Brahmaloka - House of the Creator

This is how Multiverse looks, with each universe having its own creator.  This is beyond Multiverse. Brahmaloka (Sanskrit: ब्रह्मालोक) and more often Satyaloka (Sanskrit: सत्यलोक)' world of truth '. Man's knowledge is as mini as a grain of sand in this universe. The whole cosmos is centralized toward humans. Whatever is outside is inside us, and whatever is inside is also outside. Corresponding to the seven centers inside, there are seven realms of being in the whole universe. In Sanskrit they are called Bhuloka, Bhuvarloka, Svarloka, Maharloka, Janaloka, Tapoloka, Satyaloka.  I am not asking you to think about why these lokas exist. I am just asking you how to visualize these lokas. How to explain to someone new to Hinduism what a loka really is? Science is not yet developed to describe all kinds of truths that pervades this magnificent and ever mysterious universe. Asking scientific explanations for everything is like asking a toddler how to solve a differential equation....

Vaikuntha | God's land or what people say as Afterlife?

(वैकुण्ठ, Vaikuṇṭha) It is impossible to deny the fact that all our efforts will end up of no use after death. Every day running back and forth for money is everyone’s daily routine. But in the end, we are not allowed to take anything with us after death. Even with modernized technology and such a peak in the medical industry, we are not able to find a way to live for eternity or even pain-free.  Do you ever wonder if there is a world/dimension with no fear of Death and pain? A life till the end of eternity? Too good to be a true theory? Or does that sound like God’s land? The Concept In Hinduism, Param Dharma is after death place, the home of spirits and souls. While material planets are Kuntha and have people with anxiety (fear of everyday situations). That’s what differs the most in the Spiritual world, i.e., Vaikuntha. Vaikuntha also means – Vai-kuntha without fear. Vaikuntha is beyond all the other lokas (worlds), guarded by Jaya and Vijaya, guardians of Vishnu’s realm. N...
