| (वैकुण्ठ, Vaikuṇṭha) |
It is impossible to deny the fact that all our efforts will end up of no use after death. Every day running back and forth for money is everyone’s daily routine. But in the end, we are not allowed to take anything with us after death. Even with modernized technology and such a peak in the medical industry, we are not able to find a way to live for eternity or even pain-free.
Do you ever wonder if there is a world/dimension with no fear of Death and pain? A life till the end of eternity? Too good to be a true theory? Or does that sound like God’s land?
The Concept
In Hinduism, Param Dharma is after death place, the home of spirits and souls. While material planets are Kuntha and have people with anxiety (fear of everyday situations). That’s what differs the most in the Spiritual world, i.e., Vaikuntha. Vaikuntha also means – Vai-kuntha without fear.
Vaikuntha is beyond all the other lokas (worlds), guarded by Jaya and Vijaya, guardians of Vishnu’s realm. Narayana/Vishnu is said to be residing here with his consort Lakshmi, the goddess of Fortune in their palace of crystals. Vaikuntha is described as full of golden palaces and hanging gardens that grow fruits and flowers. The planets of Vaikuntha begin 26,200,000 yojanas (209,600,000 miles) above Satyaloka. One can see Bhagwan Vishnu only after opening these seven doors. This means when the seven chakras of the human body get activated, only one can see Bhagwan Vishnu.
“It is very much regrettable that unfortunate people do not discuss the description of the Vaikuntha Loka.” - Shrimad Bhagavata Mahapurana
Other interesting features of Vaikuntha:
2) Eternal Bliss
3) Eternal life – No birth-death cycle
4) No attachment to worldly things and relations
5) A world without fear
6) Innovation and technology are at their height
7) Wish-fulfilling trees in the Vaikuntha forest
8) Bird stops their own singing to hear the lord
Many other descriptions of Vaikuntha can be found in the Scriptures.
